Atkins is recognized as the first female photographer, and also produced the first book to use photographic illustrations. This particular volume reproduces many of her works from British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions, as well as pieces done with the help of her friend Anne Dixon. Absolutely a book for any photography historian or enthusiasts, as well as botanists.
