This gripping historical fiction novel transports readers to 1870s Italy, where a violent incident unfolds, leaving a trail of mystery and tragedy. The protagonist, Alessio Narni, returns to his homeland after 18 years of self-imposed exile, unaware of the web of secrets and betrayals that await him. As he delves deeper into the circumstances surrounding his wife's death and the identity of his daughter, he becomes the target of a brutal attack that leaves him fighting for life. Desperate to unravel the truth, Alessio's close friend sets out to investigate, navigating a treacherous labyrinth of hidden identities, conflicting loyalties, and long-buried family secrets. The author skillfully weaves together themes of love, loss, and the devastating consequences of deceit, as the characters struggle to confront their past and find redemption amidst the wreckage of their lives. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book offers a captivating account of Anna d'Orlà ans, the compassionate and intelligent wife of Victor Amadeus II, the first king of the Savoy dynasty. Set against the backdrop of a tumultuous 17th century, it explores Anna's formative years in France, her unfortunate arranged marriage to a prince lacking in both charm and competence, and the challenges she faced as a young duchess in the politically fraught court of Savoy. Drawing from a wealth of letters and firsthand accounts, the author vividly recreates Anna's journey, highlighting her diplomatic skills, steadfast support for her husband, and dedication to the people of Piedmont. This meticulously researched historical narrative shines a light on a remarkable woman whose influence and virtues shaped the destiny of a nation. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
