Translated and introduced by Samuel Charters. Sodergran was one of the first feminist poets, and one of the first modernists. Her work was bitterly attacked during her lifetime, and when she died at age 31, after years of suffering from tuberculosis, and living in abject poverty, one of the causes was malnutrition.
