L'auteur est le seul témoin occulaire à faire une description authentique des fameux repas "semi-nutritifs" organisés par Grimod de La Reynière. Livre très important pour la connaissance de la "gastronomie" du début du XIXe siècle en France. Bien complet du frontispice gravé par Mariage, qui est souvent absent. cette gravure représente un repas où huit gourmets sont attablés. Un des convives n'est autre que Grimod de La Reynière, que l'on peut reconnaître par la perruque "ancien régime" qu'il porta même après la Révolution ! Très RARE. Cet exemplaire est dans son "jus" de l'époque. Non rogné avec bords salis mais heureusement avec de grandes marges.
