Hardcover. Condición: Good. Posthumously published diaries of English journalist, lawyer and part founder of the London University. As the title hints at, these three volumes are more than just a parochial record of personal events and cover a period from the late 18th century up to the 1860s (in England and at times overseas e.…g. as Foreign Editor of the Times). Each volume is identical in style and in a similar good condition so comments apply to all three unless stated otherwise. Half leather boards with marble effect covers. Decorative spine with raised leather bands and gilt (gold) titles. All edges are marbled as are the endpapers. Internally, pages are tanned with occasional spotting; more apparent on the preliminary and final pages. The contents page of vol. II has a small closed tear. There is also occasional underling in pencil and/or paragraph marking. This occurs in a descending amount (Vol I >Vol>II>Vol III) and while clearly visible is arguably not too intrusive (image). Vol I has an errata page at the beginning of chapter one. Pagination (Vol I: pp. xxiii, 509, vol II. pp. Iv, 529, vol III, pp. vii, 601, including Appendix and Index. 8vo (crown octavo - +/-).
