The pages are browned around the edges with a little spotting at the front and back and to the edges and there is a two inch crease to the top corner of the final five pages but they are otherwise unmarked. The spine has surface chipping with about half of it gone but the binding is secure. There is some light discolouration to the rear cover which has some chipping along the left edge and the bottom left corner. The chipping to the bottom corners affects the final two thirds of the pages. Pages browned around the edges with rusty marks around the staples but otherwise unmarked. A novel set in New York about a pair of poor sisters, raised with the determination to conquer society. Trained to marry millionaires, they eventually buy their way into society, though the added drama of falling in love with a man without means or social standing enters into the equation.
