Februar 1975 - drei Tage vor der Wahl zum Berliner Abgeordnetenhaus, bei der Peter Lorenz als Spitzenkandidat der Berliner CDU antrat - wurde er von Mitgliedern der 'Bewegung 2. Juni' (u.a. Ronald Fritzsch, Gerald Klöpper, Till Meyer, Ralf Reinders, Gabriele Rollnik, Inge Viett und Andreas Vogel) auf spektakuläre Weise entführt und am 3. März wieder freigelassen, nachdem die Bundesregierung nach kontroverser Debatte die Forderung der Entführer - Freilassung der RAF-Mitglieder Verena Becker, Gabriele Kröcher-Tiedemann, Ingrid Siepmann, Rolf Heißler und Rolf Pohle aus dem Gefängnis - erfüllt hatte (Horst Mahler stand auch auf der Liste, wollte aber gar nicht 'raus'). Das der Forderung beiliegende Polaroid-Foto mit dem 'Plakat' ''Peter Lorenz - Gefangener der Bewegung 2. Juni'' vor dem Oberkörper, machte Geschichte und diente offensichtlich den RAF-Entführern von Hans Martin Schleyer 2½ Jahre später als 'Vorbild'. Bei Peter Lorenz handelte sich um die erste Entführung eines Politikers durch Terroristen in der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und trotz des zeitlichen Abstandes war das Geschehen ein Vorbote des 'Deutschen Herbstes' 1977. . .
