He was one of only six survivors rescued by Rear Admiral Winfield Scott Schley in 1884. Bookplate of former owner, scientist and explorer, Robert Lloyd Lillestrand. Lillestrand was a modern polar explorer experienced in navigation methods and took part in several National Geographic expeditions.…
