Rare - copies held at the Polish Aviation Museum, and the Nordic-American Digital Catalog (Papers of Rolf Brandt Preus). Worldcat has an entry, but records no holdings. None on Copac. Transport Command succeeded Ferry Command as the backbone of the RAF's wartime logistical effort, moving aircraft from factories to front lines in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Immediately after WW2, it supported the reorganisation of overseas forces, reconstruction of Western Europe, and the Berlin Airlift. It was radically reduced in the 1950s. This booklet, dated Nov 1945, was written for civilians performing functions deemed to be in the national interest immediately after WW2, when many travel restrictions were still in place: "Your air passage has been approved by an Air Priorities Board, and a seat has been booked for you on a transport aircraft of the Royal Air Force. (it) cannot be furnished to the standard of a civil aircraft. Nevertheless every effort will be made to make your journey as comfortable as possible. All the preliminary arrangements. have been made by the Air Booking Centre. (p1) Your rests on the ground. may not be as long as you would choose for your comfort's sake, but the purpose of travelling with Transport Command is to get to your destination in the shortest possible time." (p8). Contents include Foreword; Air ticket; Documents; Currency regulations; Medical; Baggage; Passenger and freight sections; Safety; Authority of the Captain; and Conclusion.…

He was a fast jet pilot in the 1970s, a squadron commander during the Falklands War, and a senior air commander in the 1990s.

He carried out the highest number of attacks on U-boats during the Battle of the Atlantic, sinking a record total of three (U-597, U-611 and U-514).

Printed by Woodfall & Kinder, Printers, 70 to 76, Long Acre, London, W.C.' Aged and grubby. Folded into a packet and addressed, with postmarked Halfpenny Red stamp, to 'R. Harington Esq | 1 New Court | Temple | E.C.' The front page gives details of 'Dress', by order of E. B. Fletcher, Lieut.-Instructor. Pp.2-3 give notices relating to the 'London Corps', again by Fletcher; p.4 concerns the 'Brighton Corps. | Head Quarters, King's Road, | December, 1891.' Pp.5-6 give details, by A. H. Fry, Sub-Lieutenant in Command, of the five matches in 'The Annual Prize Meeting'. The poster, on one side of a 53.5 x 41.5 cm sheet, is headed 'Royal Naval Artillery Volunteers. | Progress Return of No. 3 Battery, for 1890.' Printed by 'W. COLLINS, Printer, Victoria Works, Wendover Road, Harlesden.' Folded into the customary packet, with the outer title: 'III. BATTERY. | "MIRROR." | 1890.' In fair condition, aged and with grubby reverse. At the head is a large table giving the names of members, with a myriad details relating to drill and marksmanship. ('R Harrington [sic]' is described as 'NE', standing for 'non-efficient'. Beneath the table, and occupying the bottom third of the page, is various information, including 'facts' for which the year 1890 'has been chiefly remarkable': 'The number of Assaults-at-Arms attended by members of the Battery; The number of Cruises the Diligent has gone; The death of surgeon G. H. Bishop, a most zealous officer, who knew every member of his Battery, and was beloved by all who knew him; and the number of Prizes won by the Battery'.
