David (known as Dayed because he could not pronounce his name correctly) a privileged 6 year old child from the Regents Park area of London befriends a little girl and together they share a magical world of Fairies, Mermaids and Hobgoblins. Her name is "Rif" - because his Nursemaid referred to her as Rif Raff ! Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale for further details and condition. Good no dust jacket (Book - moderate general shelf wear to cloth - colour rubbing only, light shelf soiling, gilt titles to spine dulled, offset browning to free end papers. An unusual book produced by Wrights Coal tar soap, and drawn by Constance e Rowlands in the form of 16 illustrations with a caption under each… one. It states 'It took nine printings to colour them' and suggests that the children trace them and then colour in their copies, matching the colours as closely as they can.
