Rothhaar was a farmer, machinest, inventor of the Snuffer Broadhead, bowyer, and taxidermnist. He killed his first whitetail in 1965, and later established a national reputation as a premier whitetail deer bowhunting authority. He was a longtime contributor to BOWHUNTER Magazine, first as editor of the Professional Bowhunter Society column that started with Vol. 1, No. 1 in 1971, and also a PBS founder, officer, and longtime supporter.
