Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. In Hebrew. 40 pages. 210 x 135 mm. With a two page English language introduction. Stapled wrapper. This is not the original 1753 manuscript. This is a copy of it made in 1963. Cecil Roth (1899-1970) , editor in chief of the Encyclopaedia Judaica, was born in London and went to Merton…College, Oxford, where he showed an interest in Jewish history and liturgy as early as his undergraduate years. He was a reader in Jewish studies at Oxford for two and a half decades, until 1964, when he moved to Jerusalem, as a visiting professor at Bar-Ilan University. After a heart attack and being falsely accused of unorthodoxy, he left Bar-Ilan, and spent the rest of his life editing the Encyclopaedia Judaica and teaching at Queens College and Stern College in New York. Roth wrote and published profusely, with O. K. Rabinowitz's 1966 bibliography listing 572 items, though the actual number is over 600, including translations and editing of Haggadot. (Lipman, EJ)This is a modern reproduction of the original Haggadah.

Paperback. 143p., profusely illustrated with b&w rondels & squares, perhaps 3 to 7 on every page adjacent to extensive annotations, really important guys (yes, mostly males) accorded fullpage reproductions, the collection broken down into professions, quite a collection of faces mostly unknown to this cataloguer, softbound in 11…x8 inch decorated wraps. Item is mildly edgeworn with a couple of scratches to front cover, an else good copy: sound, clean within, and except for a neat small ownership inside cover, entirely unmarked.
