soft. Condición: Near Fine. First Edition. MVSN 1923-1943: Badges and Uniforms of the Italian Fascist Militia, G. Rosignoli â" First Edition, Signed Publication: Farnham, Surrey, Rosignoli, 1980. Formatting: 8vo, pp. 160. Condition Report: Near Fine. The pictorial card wraps remain remarkably bright and crisp for a softcover of this vintage, with only faint, superficial rubbing to the extremities and an uncreased spine indicating the book has seen little, if any, reading wear. The corners remain sharp, avoiding the typical curling often associated with this format. Internally, the binding is exceptionally tight and square. The text block edges are clean, and the pages are uniformly bright and completely free of foxing, thumbing, or tears, presenting a superb, well-preserved copy. Catalogue Note: First Edition. Signed by the author, G. Rosignoli, in black ink to the title page. Adjacent to the signature is the stamped number '695,' likely signifying the book's original retail price of £6.95, though occasionally misinterpreted as a limitation number in this title. The front free endpaper bears the neat ink ownership signature of "Russell Arthur Hamilton," dated 1981. Self-published by the author in a small print run, this highly specialised militaria reference is scarce on the open market, particularly in signed condition. It features extensive black-and-white plates detailing the insignia and uniforms of the MVSN. A seminal reference work for militaria collectors and military historians, MVSN 1923-1943 offers an exhaustive exploration of the badges, uniforms, and organizational structure of the Italian Fascist Militia (Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale). Drawing on meticulous primary research, Rosignoli details the evolution of the militia's visual identity from its inception following the March on Rome to the collapse of the fascist regime in 1943. Heavily illustrated with comprehensive black-and-white plates, this volume serves as an indispensable visual archive of the intricate insignia, ranks, and specialized branch uniforms that defined Mussolini's Blackshirts.
