Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is an exploration of the complexities of relationships and loyalties in the Basque country on the eve of the Spanish Civil War. Set in a small village gripped by political and social turmoil, the story delves into the tensions between tradition and modernity, the struggle for social justice, and the profound impact of violence on individuals and communities. The narrative captures the essence of a community grappling with its identity, caught between the allure of a new era and the weight of its past. The author skillfully weaves together the perspectives of diverse characters, revealing their private struggles and their roles in the broader conflict that is about to engulf the region. Ultimately, this book offers a nuanced portrayal of the human dimensions of war and the enduring power of love, loyalty, and self-sacrifice in the face of adversity.
