Un volume relié demi-basane noire de l'époque, dos lisse orné de doubles filets dorés, titre et date 1808 à 1842 doré, "Varzy" doré en pied, réunissant 68 pièces de règlements composées de mandements pour le Carême, de lettres pastorales à l'occasion des retraites ecclésiastiques annuelles, des entrées des évêques dans leur dioc…èse, lettres circulaires à la fin des tournées pastorales, des jubilés.sous le gouvernement de cinq évêques successifs : Mgr Imberties (évêque d'Autun, 1806-1819) / Mgr de Vichy (évêque d'Autun, 1819-1829) / Mgr Millaux (évêque de Nevers, 1834-1842) / Mgr Dedouhet-d'Auzers (évêque de Nevers, 1829-1834) / Mgr Naudo (évêque de Nevers, 1834-1842, avant de devenir archevêque d'Avignon). Pour mémoire, sous l'ancien régime, les paroisses du Nivernais relevaient des diocèses de Nevers, d'Auxerre au nord, d'Autun à l'est. Pendant la révolution, le diocèse de Nevers correspondait au département de la Nièvre. Par le Concordat de 1801, il est supprimé et fait partie du diocèse d'Autun, un vicaire général résidant à Nevers étant chargé de l'ancien diocèse. Après de longues négociations concernant la nouvelle circonscription des diocèses, celui de Nevers, correspondant au territoire du département de la Nièvre, a été rétabli par une bulle du 10 octobre 1822. Le premier titulaire, Mgr Millau, est arrivé le 31 juillet 1823. Source intéressante pour l'histoire du diocèse de Nevers et pour l'étude de l'enseignement épiscopal de la première moitié du XIXe siècle concernant la pastorale et les pratiques.
