Twelve hand-colored aquatint plates by Rowlandson, labeled Frontispiece, 1-11 and 14. Other listings have indicated 15 plates, thus 12 and 13, are missing. Very good minus book with new spine. Half-leather with blue marbled paper. Most edges are rubbed through. A number of pages have repairs of archival paper to the fore-edge margins. Several pages, including verso to frontispiece, tp, and Dedication have penciled notes and random jottings. Front paste-down has several small ink notes. Both free-endpapers have shadow transfers. A few internal smudges, intermittent foxing, some very grubby pages and some very clean. Text block is sound due to new spine.
