Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. 1st Edition. NATION S HERITAGE VOLUME ONE NUMBER FIVE NATIVE AMERICAN EXPERIENCE 1949 FOLIO. This is a rather astonishing and indeed depressing book, published by Heritage Magazine, in 1949, about the Native Americans and their experience since the founding of ou…r country. On offer here is a very large, folio sized hard cover book, titled: Nation s Heritage Volume One Number Five, which was apparently authored and edited by Robert K. Heimann. This very large hard cover book (12 ¼ x 15 ¼ inches, 287 pages) was published by Heritage Magazine Incorporated, of New York, dated 1949. The book is bound in pictorial cloth, decorated with a reproduction of the Rockwell Kent painting Shadows of Evening, albeit without much explanation as to why they used this image. The book is lavishly illustrated with photos (b&w and color), engravings, reproductions of paintings, etc etc. All of the illustrations and the text which accompanies them or captions them have something to do with the Native American experience in America, from colonial days to the present (at that time 1949). The endpapers are decorated in copper foil. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There is a heavy-duty plastic dust jacket which has some slight splits, chips and tears, protecting the hard covers. It is also scuffed and darkened to some degree. As a result of this protection, the hard covers are in very good condition with just some minor edge wear along the bottom edge. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and many plates are clean and bright throughout, with no age-toning or foxing. Both hinges are fully intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square, amazing for such a large book. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
