This, of course, is the novel written by Robert Penn Warren - a thinly veiled portrait of Louisiana politician Huey P. Long. It remains one of the most significant fictional explorations of modern American politics. The book, which includes essays by a number of individuals (including Robert Penn Warren), was edited by Robert H. Chambers, and published in paperback format by Prentice-Hall as a Spectrum Book in 1977, being the first paperback printing. Please scroll down for Contents. CONDITION -- This is a previously owned book that remains clean and presentable, with the following particulars noted : EXTERIOR -- There are vertical shallow creases (or marks) on the spine, but these don't seem to be from reading; cover edges display modest weathering (slight foxing-like spottage); front surface is, for the most part has mild surface rub - the rear cover displays slightly more surface rub - but both sides are essentially clean. Rear corner tips are slightly bumped. BINDING -- Tight INTERIOR -- Slight irregularities to the top corners of leaves from pp 111 - 122, else the interior is clean and unmarked - the book hardly seems to have been read.
