Chaplain Rickard was a member of the Virginia Conference [of the Methodist Church? ] for 42 years but served in the chaplaincy of the US Army for 20 years. He and Mrs. Rickard retired in Strasburg following his last appointment at Greenville-Mint Spring in the Staunton District. He died in 1999. He eared his A. B. Degree at Shepherd State Teachers College (now Shepherd University) and his B. D> degree at the Divinity School of Duke University. When he wrote this work he was stationed at Fort Belvoir. Good.
