Añadir al carritoCloth. Condición: See Note. A 1903 edition of a book containing the works of 6 authors in one volume. The pages of the text are very clean without any notes or highlighting, and there is very little discoloration/browning or foxing. The cover, however, shows signs of its age. The spine has detached from the front cover book board (cracking is visible from the inside) and there are streaks and spots of discoloration or damage. Cloth is tearing at corners and spine, with underlying boards visible/exposed in those places. At edges there is also color loss where cloth is not torn. The inside front cover end paper is detached from the page that follows, and some tears can be seen on the last pages. Back end paper is beginning to peel from the cover book board. We are a Benedictine Abbey and Seminary library in Oregon. We appreciate your support.

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. First American Edition. New York: Lynch, Cole & Meehan, 1873. Thomas Nicolas Burke (1830-1883), a Dominican priest, was noted as a "great patriot" and speaker. He toured America in 1872 to refute the anti-Irish sentiments of the English historian Anthony Froude. Burke is referenced by James Joyce in "Dubliners" for his speaking ability. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition. Despite his popularity, the book is scarce today. Marbled paper-covered boards with brown leather spine and tips. Four raised bands on the spine with gilt ruling and lettering. Clean text; 324 pages; all page ends marbled. Frontis portrait. "With an Appendix, Containing a Review of the So-called 'Bull' of Adrian IV, by the Most Rev. P.H. Moran, Bishop of Ossory; and 'An Analysis of the Rebellion of 1641,' by Mathew Carey." Issued as part of the "Irish American Library." There is a contemporary (1887) signature on the FFEP. A Very Good copy, but ex-libris, with the usual treatments that detract from its attractiveness: college library label on the front paste-down, stamp on the Title Page, penciled call numbers, pocket on the rear paste-down, Dewey number on the otherwise nice spine. Generally rubbed at the margins. First American Edition. Half-Leather. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
