Bamber to the front paste down of each work.A lovely selection of the poetry of Anglo-Irish writer and cleric Jonathan Swift, best remembered as the author of Gulliver's Travels and as one of the most prominent satirists of the Georgian era. This collection includes verses such as "A Description of a City Shower" and "The Lady's Dressing Room" and features an in-depth biographical introduction by the Rev. John Mitford. In full-calf binding with marbled endpapers. Bookplate of Chas. A. Bamber to the front paste down of each work. Externally, reasonably smart with slight bumping and rubbing, resulting in moderate loss of cloth to edges and cracking to front and rear joints. A few marks to boards, the most prominent being to the front boards of Volumes I and II. Internally, hinges generally a little weak, especially to the rear of Volume I, text otherwise firmly bound. Small tide mark affecting the frontispiece of Volume I. Noticeable discolouration and light sporadic spotting throughout. Good. Not Stated (ilustrador). book.
