Hardcover. Condición: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This offering is a very old copy of The Child's Commentator on the Bible for the Home Circle written by Rev. Ingram Cobbin with an Introduction by Dr. L. P. Brockett. The book was published by Henry S. Goodspeed & Co. in 1873 and appears to be a First Edition though it's not specifically stated as such. It is 6 1/4" by 8 5/8", is not an ex-library copy, but is only in good condition. I've patched the spine a bit though it is still desirous of separating from the end page seams. Both the front and back boards are worn and somewhat soiled as one might expect. It also has an inscription that dates the book to 1875 on the page before the title page. The text, though, is in pretty decent shape for pushing 150 years of existence and there's no foxing that I can find. The book has 1130 pages with a lengthy Table of Contents black-and-white illustrations throughout the book and black-and-white page decorations on every page there isn't a full page illustration. This is NOT a reader for the child . . . it's a reader/commentary to be read TO the child. It is quite a book and quite a look at how things once were. Thank you.…
