Cloth. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near Fine. First Edition. Hardback. First Edition. The War Toys Kriegsspieelzeuge. No. I. The Story of Hausser-Elastolin. The firm of O. & M. Hausser was founded by the brothers Max and Otto Hausser in 1904. The Company's first major factory was in Ludwigsburg, and from here an enormous range of figures of all types, under the trade name 'Elastolin' were manufactured. The figures included ancient and modern soldier of many lands and a vast range of wild and domesticated animals. The figures were moulded from a material based on sawdust and glue and then hand decorated. During the 1930s the company moved to its present factory at Neustadt in the heart of the famous doll-making region of Saxe-Coburg. During the 1930s and right through to the early years of World War 2, virtually all the military and political figures of contemporary Germany were modelled in the 'Elastolin' range. It is this period that has aroused so much interest with collectors and historians in view of the very complete nature of the line. Hausser also manufactured a series of tinplate military vehicles and virtually all their principal vehicles and figures are illustrated in this work. The Company's extremely rare 1940 catalogue has been reproduced in its entirety. 156 pp., 4 pages of colour, with illustrations of over 500 Hausser 'Elastolin' items. 155 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.).…
