Abernethy (1903-1998; in US House of Representatives from 1943-1972) at top of front pastedown now unfortunately obscured under several bold swaths of black marker. Biography of President Andrew Johnson (1808-1875) who served in the US Congress from Tennessee as a Representative from 1843-1852 and Senator from 1857-1862 and 1875-1876 as well as Vice-President in 1865 and President of the United States from 1865-1869. With Preface, two leaves of b/w plates; and Notes and References.
