Revised Table Draft script for Season 1 Episode 6 of the 1991-1992 television series. Working copy belonging to actor Redd Foxx, with his annotations throughout and his first name in manuscript ink on the title page. The short-lived series followed a retired couple who suddenly find themselves obligated to host their newly divorced daughter and her three children. In this installment, Elizabeth's budding relationship with a doctor causes mixed reactions among her family members. The episode originally aired on November 13, 1991, on CBS. Self wrappers. Title page present, dated August 21, 1991, noted as REV. TABLE DRAFT, with credits for director Neema Barnette and screenwriters Leslie Ray and David Steven Simon. 49 leaves, with last page of text numbered 46. Xerographic duplication, rectos only, with yellow and green revision pages throughout, dated August 23, 1991. Pages Very Good plus, bound with three gold brads.

Two vintage reference photographs from the 1970 film. Blindstamps at the corners, with annotations in manuscript ink and pencil on the versos. Based on the 1965 Chester Himes novel. An early blaxpoitation film about two cops investigating a phony local preacher. The film proved a runaway box office success, inspiring a slew of buddy cop films both within the genre and beyond. Collection of 15 vintage photographs relating to the 1972-1977 television series. Eleven photographs with printed mimeo snipes affixed to the versos. Two photographs are from the short-lived series spin-off, "Sanford," which ran from 1980 to 1981. Especially notable among the set is a photograph of actor Redd Foxx receiving an "Entertainer of the Year" award from the NAACP in 1973, accompanied by actor Ossie Davis. Based on the 1962-1974 British sitcom "Steptoe and Son." A landmark in African American situational comedy, about a cantankerous, elderly junk dealer living with his long-suffering adult son in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. The show was enormously popular, and was one of the top ten highest rated series on American television from its first season through 1976, attributed by many to its edgy humor and outspoken portrayal of working-class life. Eleven photographs measuring 9 x 7 inches and four photographs measuring 8 x 10 inches. Generally Near Fine.

Foxx, Redd. Annotated typescript, owned and marked by Redd Foxx (1922-1991), one of the most influential Black comedians of the twentieth century. Foxx, who emerged from the Chitlin' Circuit nightclub tradition before achieving national fame in the sitcom Sanford and Son, helped carry African American vernacular humor into mainstream American media. The present script, containing short prose meditations and moral-philosophical fragments, is attributed to mid-century American painter Streeter Blair. The script does not have a clear narrative arc, but grapples with themes including morality and hypocrisy ("Who made these rules of the illegals, the immorals? NOT GOD."), gender relations, spiritual self-determination, mortality, and American ambition. Some passages refer directly to Blair's life and childhood, including his time at the University of Kansas and his small town upbringing. The notated passages and red-pencil emphases indicate a working document, offering insight into Foxx's interpretive sensibility and editorial selection. Redd Foxx. Mimeographed leaves, rectos only, secured with brass fasteners at left margin. Numerous red pencil circles and check marks throughout; occasional marginal emphasis marks; evidence of handling consistent with performance or rehearsal use. Edge wear with small chips and closed tears, most notably to upper and lower fore-edge corners; minor damp staining and wormholing on the first few leaves, but the vast majority are clean; fastening holes reinforced by metal brads; overall good to very good condition. A materially revealing artifact of Black performance history, preserving the working textual engagement of a transformative figure in twentieth-century American comedy.
