One side has a printed photographic image of Rand, over which she has inscribed "To the Up North Restaurant [signed] Sally Rand." The reverse of the card reads "Your host Gary Chichester invites you to meet Miss Sally Rand. Miss Rand will be delighted to autograph this photograph for you between shows." A few tiny spots of mounting adhesive on text side of card, with one tiny spot affecting image. Born as Helen Gould Beck caught her fame on the midway in the 1933 Century of Progress World's Fair where she danced with fans made of huge ostrich plumes, and not much else. DeMille's productions "Bachelor Brides" 1926; "Gigolo" 1926; and "The King of Kings" 1927.

This exotic fan dancer caused a sensation at the 1933 Chicago Word's Fair. TNS, 1p, 5½" X 8½", Glendora, CA, 1968 March 8. Addressed to Norman Ziel. Very good. Would be fine but for small tape stain on verso that shows through at center of letter (not affecting signature). Thanks an admirer for his letter. Large, sloppy signature.
