We have no information about the author but the collection has been described by Kimopn Friar as "A beautiful rhapsody.so many elements truly Greek that I felt as if a spirit from Hellenic times has sent me a gesture across the centuriels. The book is bound in the original card covers and is in very good condition with shelf wear and some soiling on the covers. The corners of the cover are rubbed with a small crease across the bottom corner of the front cover and there is a crease running down the spine. The contents are secure and clean with a signed inscription on the front free endpaper that reads: "For Mary Rogers - F. Ragovin, aug 2, 1967, Athens, Greece". There is a small name label on the inside of the front cover. SIGNED and INSCRIBED By the Au.

Alan Ansen (1922Ð2006) was an American poet, playwright, and associate of Beat Generation writers. He was a scholar of many languages. He worked as W. H. Auden's secretary and research assistant in 1948-49; working on the chronological tables in Auden's The Portable Greek Reader and Poets of the English Language. Very good-minus.
