Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Rare 1841 copy of Lady Pakington's, "The Art of Contentment." The book is in very good condition with just some minor signs of wear and age. The full leather covers only have some minor wear with a little darkening to the spine. The binding is good and sound. There is a period name inscription to… the top margin of the title page. The interior is lightly toned from age but mostly nice and clean with just the occasional light bit of foxing. A couple of pages have a creased corner. Along with that, there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a minor stain or marking, light wrinkle, nick or tiny chip, etc. Generally though, it's a nice copy. The book measures approximately 6 3/8 inches by 4 inches and is 174 pages long with a black and white frontispiece.

Condición: very good. 2nd Edition (stated on title page). xiii,[1],363pp. Small octavo. Original salmon coloured cloth. Spine darkened. Corners somewhat bumped. Top of spine a bit worn. Original coated yellow endpapers. Folding map frontispiece. One other map and 10 other illustrations. 2 pages of text reversed when the book was… originally bound. A few very minor stains in the text. very good The second edition seems to be just a reprint of the first which came out 2 years earlier. It also seems much scarcer than the first. The author makes extensive comments on the natives, colonies and Tasmania.
