There accumulated a correspondingly large body of literature on the Turkish carpet and-from the 1950s onwards- the kilim. French, Italian, English, German and Russian studies and commentaries on the history, regional characteristics, symbolic motifs, and technique of Turkis carpet weaving today constitutes a large specialist library.".
