He tells of the doctor's trips by rubber dinghy to attend his patients aboard the fishing boats, of rescue operations both successful and abortive, and of one of the worst hurricanes ever seen by the ship. He also describes of the Artic skies aflame with the Northern Lights and of nosing through hour-long blizzards which envelop the ship like fog. Included are maps and photographs.
