Pole Evans (Director of the Botanical Survey of the Union of South Africa). The journal published taxonomic revisions, regional flora studies, and original descriptions of South African plants and fungi. This part collects six papers contributed in 1939, with detailed botanical line drawings (several by Betty Connell), half-tone plates of herbarium specimens by H.
