Paper covers rubbed and lightly soiled with some scuffing at edges; slender light brown staining at rear cover's bottom edge and fore-edge with some interior leaves affected likewise. Pages are otherwise clean. Binding remains crisp. A very good- copy. {MS-Shelf#1}.

Touch of foxing to text block edges with stringer toning/foxing to endpapers; interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. A very good+ copy in a very good dust jacket. {MS-Shelf#2}.

The music and simple lyrics are printed on the two facing pages; the rear cover (p. 4) bears an illustrated advertisement for Jones' "Normal and Industrial Training School.for the education of colored boys and girls" where both he and his wife taught.
