The RGS is a learned society and professional body in the United Kingdom, founded in 1830 to promote geographical science. Intended as a companion to any history of Newfoundland. Reverend Pilot presents a bold and clear outline of the island. Attempts to assign to each event its own relative import and thus introduce a true perspective into the historical narrative.
