A very good- copy and a handsome edition of the classic Latin picaresque novel written sometime between 150-180 A.D. in the standard English translation by William Adlington. Includes six b/w plates including frontispiece which retains a lightly toned tissue guard plus other b/w illustrations or "decorations" amongst text many of which are chapter headpieces.

In overall good used condition with only signs of age, handling and storage - light rubbing to edges and spine has… tanned with crack to leather at front spine fold. Binding tight and appears little read. Internally clean, no annotation or inscriptions; tanning to page-ends (upper edges gilt) but text and illustrations bright and clear throughout.
