Although Hemingway the man (and myth) and Hemingway the writer are separate entities, the story of the man has come to dominate our attention in recent years, mostly through the publication of several psycho-biographies and incomplete or sometimes heavily edited posthumous works. But it is Hemingway the writer who is the subject of this volume. Discussed in detail are some of the most cherished and influential works of twentieth-century fiction: The Sun Also Rises, "The Killers," A Farewell to Arms, "The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber," and The O/d Man and the Sea among many others.
