Wä…hrend andere Zeitschriften das 'Mädchen von nebenan' lieferten, setzte Harrison auf 'bad girls' in Satin und Leder, Netzstrümpfen und Schuhen mit 15 Zentimeter hohen Absätzen, die alberne, burlesk anmutende Kapriolen schlugen. Harrison lockte seine Leser mit bunten Titelbildern, gemalt von führenden Pin-up-Künstlern wie Earl Moran, Billy DeVorss und - dem berühmtesten unter ihnen - Peter Driben. Diese Ausgabe aus der Reihe Bibliotheca Universalis enthält sämtliche Titelblätter der Magazine Beauty Parade, Wink, Titter, Eyeful, Flirt und Whisper der Jahre 1942 bis 1955 sowie zahllose burleske Bildgeschichten, in denen unter anderem auch eine gerade erst erblühte Bettie Page zu bestaunen ist. In einer Zeit, in der weitaus offenherzigere Darstellungen die Norm sind, zelebriert 1000 Pin-Up Girls eine Epoche, in der die erotische Fantasie noch mit Komik, Korsetts und Kapriolen befeuert wurde.
