Size 8.25 x 5.25 inches (200 x 135mm) The Penwith Society was founded in 1949 by Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, Peter Lanyon, Bernard Leach, Sven Berlin and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, amongst others. This catalogue states that the president is Herbert Read, and the Penwith Society was founded in memory of Borlase Smart.As this issue has 10 on the front cover, I suspect this is the Tenth exhibition of the society, four being held every year from 1949 when the Penwith Society started exhibiting.
