Couverture rigide. Condición: Comme neuf. Edition originale. Bruxelles & Mexico 2024. Softbound 23 x 25 cm. --------- 304 pages . 582 illustrations. ******************* "" First monograph of German artist Esther Kläs, covering over 15 years of practice. Born 1981 in Mainz (Germany), Esther Kläs lives and works in Barcelona. Esther Kläs' sculptures and paperworks follow an autonomously defined logic that sets her work in relation to episodes of art history, such as minimalism and abstraction, while at the same time authentically positioning it in the here and now of present-day contemporary art. Esther Kläs' works give rise to an ongoing dialogue between body and environment, which already starts with her process-oriented engagement with plastic materials such as concrete, clay, plaster or artificial resin. Although they are static, Esther Kläs' sculptures and drawings appear to be in constant motion between object, figure and space. Despite their abstraction, or perhaps precisely because of it, her sculptures and paperworks refer to their own presence that enters into a performative relationship with the body of the beholder. In doing so, Esther Kläs' works avoid any kind of metaphor or narration in favor of direct experience. "" ******************** ref fab-02-06.…

Loose Pages. Condición: As New. First Edition. Text: ENG. A collection of 22 loose pages (30 x 42 cm) folded to format 15 x 21 cm held between cardboard covers (also loose). " Rehearsing Realities, an exhibition on paper began with a proposal to a group of international artists and curators, inviting them to imagine a fictional exhibition at FormContent. Often being confronted by theoretical and cultural evenness, FormContent was particularly intrigued by the idea of an accumulation of imaginary gestures, of alternative histories and creative personal mythologies. An exercise in rehearsing curatorial realities has taken place through the different responses sent to FormContent. Tailored to a specific format, these proposals present imagined exhibitions, which comprise traces, fragments, and beginnings of stories. The question of whether they are real or fictional is not important, what matters is that they translate minds onto paper. Conducting and publishing this project allows FormContent to ponder its own identity and, at the same time, explore new curatorial boundaries by expanding the project beyond the walls of its physical space. This publication employs FormContent's usual mode of communication, a format somewhere between a press release, a poster, a document and an invitation; a black laser print on recycled A3 sized paper. For FormContent's one-year anniversary, we are pleased to present twenty one exhibitions by artists and curators who share a common approach that has become the core of FormContent's practice. We would like to thank all participants warmly for their time and support, and especially for their crazy and generous ideas. " (Formcontent). Artists' Book. …
