Moderate wear to binding, with bumping to corners and head and tail of spine, small tears to head of spine, scattered rubbing, heaviest at ship vignette to rear, and sunning to spine. All edges gilt. Front hinge a touch tender; binding remains sound. Black coated endpapers. Gift inscription to verso of frontispiece: "Alexandra, in remembrance of her 21st birthday from Agnes."
