Er war u.a. Mitglied der Freimaurerloge "Einigkeit und Toleranz", der "Philanthropischen Gesellschaft" sowie des von Juden gegründeten Vereins "Ressource". Ab 1817 hieß er Heinrich Sigmund Edler von Kersdorf und war Bankier und Großhändler in München. - Johann Wilhelm von Archenholz (1743-1812) war Augenzeuge der Ereignisse von 1791/92.
