Gilt shield "Crede Byron" to front board. Spine professionally and sympathetically re-backed by a bookbinder using original spine with a replacement leather spine title-label. Copper-engraved title-page showing: Newstead Abbey painted by T. Crewick and engraved by E. Finden and copper-engraved frontispiece of Lord Byron at the age of 19 painted by G. Sanders and engraved E. Finden with tissue-guard between the two engravings and four pages of five 'facsimiles of Lord Byron's hand writing at various periods of his life' to the fore: I.
