Darüber hinaus geben die Autoren einen Ausblick auf weitere wichtige Teilgebiete der Statistik wie etwa Prognoserechnung, Ökonometrie, multivariate Verfahren, statistische Entscheidungstheorie und statistische Software. - Zur Lektüre dieses einführenden Werks sind die Vorkenntnisse in mathematischer Propädeutik ausreichend, die in allen wirtschafts- und sozialwissenschaftlichen Fakultäten im Bachelor-Studium vermittelt werden. - - Studenten der Sozialwissenschaften, seien es Soziologie, Betriebswirtschaftslehre, Volkswirtschaftslehre oder Kommunikationswissenschaft, kommen heutzutage, schon auf Grund des Studienplans, ohne ein Mindestwissen in Statistik nicht mehr aus. Für das Mathegenie kein Problem, für denjenigen aber, der schon in der Schule mit der Mathematik auf Kriegsfuß stand, eine nicht zu unterschätzende Hürde, die den Spaß am Studium gründlich verleiden kann. Hinzu kommt, daß die Statistik-Kurse an den Universitäten hinsichtlich ihrer Qualität stark schwanken, vor allem weil diese meistens von Mathematikern abgehalten werden, die es nicht schaffen, die Statistik an das entsprechende Studienfach anzupassen, etwa als Wirtschaftsstatistik o.ä. - Das Buch von Bamberg und Baur wird schon seit Jahren immer wieder als Lehrbuch für die statistischen Vorlesungen besonders wirtschaftswissenschaftlicher Studiengänge eingesetzt. Nicht ohne GrundDenn dieses Buch ist eines der wenigen, den zu vermittelnden Stoff verständlich und auch für Autodidakten geeignet darstellen. Zu den behandelten Stoffgebieten gehört das gesamte in den Sozialwissenschaften geforderte ProgrammDeskriptive Statistik, Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnung, Induktive Statistik sowie ein Überblick über weitere Teilgebiete der Statistik. - Wer als Student mit dem Fach Statistik konfrontiert wird und nicht gerade zu den Liebhabern des Fachs gehört (doch, solche soll es auch geben!), dem rate ich, dieses Buch schnell anzuschaffen und besonders die Übungsaufgaben und Beispiele nachzurechnen. Es eignet sich auch hervorragend als Nachschlagewerk, wenn man das Gelernte irgendwann wieder vergessen hat (und das geht schnell!). Ein gutes Lehrbuch und sehr empfehlenswert!
