Exterior shows tanning to the edges and spine along with some spotting and soiling, corners softened. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Pages are toned due to age but are clean. The title page has what appears to be a name written near the top edge that someone covered with white out. The white out stuck a bit to the frontispiece which also made a small stain on the backside. No other markings found in the book. Copyright page states sixth edition - October, 1943.

Malof, President of The Russian Bible Society and the Founder of the First Russian Protestant Churches Of St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia. Pastor Malof was converted at 15 years of age in the little Baptist assembly that met in his father?s house. He was baptized with other converts after midnight for fear of persecution and imprisonment. He gave his first sermon at the age of sixteen. He was trained at Spurgeon?s Pastors College in London, England. In 1914 Pastor Malof was arrested and sentenced to Siberia, years before the Bolsheviks took power. Later this sentence was commuted to banishment abroad. He then began to evangelize the 2 million Russian war prisoners in Germany and Austria. Nice little history of the struggles of Pastor Basil A.
