Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book eloquently explores the causal factors of civil unrest throughout history, from its earliest days to the present, explaining how it has agitated citizens of any given time to violence. Potential causes include changes in government and leadership, religious divisions, the unjust treatment of subjects, war and military action, political and social policies, and economic factors, which can all sow the seeds of turmoil and challenge the status quo. The author argues that these factors are often interconnected and that addressing one can help alleviate others. By understanding the circumstances that have caused civil unrest in the past, we can better address current and future situations to build a more just and equitable society. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…

In 1661, Pufendorf became professor of natural law in the Calvinistic town of Heidelberg, where he wrote the present work, first published in 1667 under the pseudonym "Severini de Monzambano". The book was a critique of the old-fashioned constitution of the Holy Roman Empire. Pufendorf was suspected to be the author of the work and his position in Heidelberg therefore became somewhat insecure. Through his brother Esaias he was offered the chair of natural and public law at the University of Lund in Sweden.…
