Poems selected and introduced by Ogden Nash. "Here are poems that Ogden Nash (whom everybody does know) thinks that everybody ought to know. As he says in his foreword, he has chosen "great poems by famous poets, great poems by obscure poets, and some of the greatest poems by nameless poets," - a melange of the familiar and the rare which every member of the family will enjoy. The range of authors includes Shakespeare, T.S. Eliot, Don Marquis, e.e. cummings, William McGonagall, John Ciardi and a fellow named Ogden Nash, to name but a few. Mother Goose is also here. There is no special plan in Mr. Nash's selection; there is rather a reflection of his personal likes and, in some cases, dislikes. The result is a highly individual anthology that could only have been made by a person of taste and wit." - from the inner front jacket flap. Shirvanain, Rose (ilustrador).…
