Water colour over graphite drawing, signed lower left. Although undated, this is very similar to works dated 1930-1935. Visible area 45.5cm x 30cm. Under passe partout (sealed into this from behind) and under glass in a wooden frame with a little handling only. The water colour is in very good condition, and clearly signed. There is a touch of paint remnant to the top right edge. An attractive portrait of a dancing nude. The frame is 67cm x 51cm. Odilon Roche (18681947) was a French artist renowned for his work as a watercolourist, draftsman, and painter. Roche's work included water colours, wash paintings, and drawings, often characterised by delicate and detailed execution. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Roche had a multifaceted career. He worked as a wine taster, colour merchant, and antiquarian specialising in 18th-century and Persian art.
