Moderate tanning and foxing to textblock. Unclipped dust jacket has heavy wear to edges, with large chips, tears and areas of loss to edges and spine. Large tear to front hinge, approx 3-4 inches. The dust jacket is in fair condition with a large chip of missing paper off the top edge of the front panel and smaller chips and tears on other panels. The original price is on the front flap. Illustrated with drawings in black and white by H.H. R Etheridge. 167 pages. According to the DJ the author ran a trading schooner in the West Indies and later retired to England to open a business making sails for yachts and small coasting vessels.
