This is Mr. CalhounÕs working copy Laid in is an 8Ó x 10Ó black & white publicity photographic portrait of Mr. Calhoun. Specially bound in gilt-stamped red leather with ÒRory CalhounÓ gilt-stamped at the lower right corner of the front board. Very good copy with some minor scuffing to the spine and a bit of edge wear. The film was written by Norman Retchin, directed by Bernard, and co-starred Gloria Grahame, Lloyd Bridges, Vince Edwards, and Frank DeKova. It tells the story of an Indian chief is murdered in a hateful town, a sympathizing ex-marshal tries to stop the Indians from attacking for revenge. Rory Calhoun (1922 - 1999) is best known for his starring roles in such memorable films as Rogue River (1951), With a Song in My Heart (1952), Way of a Gaucho (1952), How to Marry a Millionaire (1953), The Yellow Tomahawk (1954), and The Saga of Hemp Brown (1958). He also worked extensively in television, including the Western series The Texan, Gunsmoke, Death Valley Days, Zane Grey Theater, Bonanza,Rawhide, and more. For his contributions to the film and television industries, he was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame with two stars in 1960.
