Añadir al carritoVintage studio still publicity photograph of actress Constance Talmadge from the 1927 silent film. With a printed mimeo snipe affixed to the verso. Talmadge, sister of actresses Norma and Natalie, starred in her first major role in D.W. Griffith's "Intolerance" (1916). Unlike her sisters, Constance preferred to appear in light romantic comedies, such as "A Pair of Silk Stockings" (1918), "Wedding Bells" (1921), and "The Primitive Lover" (1922). Although many of her films are now considered lost, Talmadge is now best remembered for originating the tradition of preserving footprints in concrete outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre after accidentally stepping into wet concrete in front of the theatre in 1927. As with many silent film stars, her career faded with the advent of sound film, and by the 1930s, she and her sisters had retired from the screen. 7.5 x 9.75 inches. Very Good plus, with a small chip to the bottom left corner, lightly and evenly toned overall.

Añadir al carrito16 page vintage program for the 1930 film, announcing its showing at Broadway theaters in New York, with abundant black and white photographs of actors, aerial stunts, and Howard Hughes throughout. Hughes' most expensive and ambitious production, a story about World War I combat pilots, today still a dazzling work of blockbuster action and actual aerial biplane footage. Originally conceived as a silent film and then retooled as a talkie in the wake of "The Jazz Singer." Most of the film is shot in black and white, but one sequence is in color-the only color footage ever released of actress Jean Harlow before her untimely death. James Whale was hired by Hughes to direct the talking sequences, Whale's first major effort in Hollywood, but the overall production took so long, that Whale's subsequent directorial effort, "Journey's End," was released first. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography. Card wrappers, saddle stapled, 5 x 6.5 inches. 16 pages. Near Fine.
