Couverture souple. Condición: Bon. Edition originale. Paris, Germer Baillière, 1851 ; in-8, 94 pp., broché, couverture muette moderne, quelques rousseurs, bon état. Edition originale rare. REFERENCES: Rosen G : The history of miner¿s diseases, 298, 315, 316, 332, 340 : "In 1845 Guillot gave a detailed account of his researchers on the accumulation of carbon in the pulmonary organs of elderly men. Although he also included certain clinical observations in his papers, Guillot was chiefly concerned with the black masses found in the lungs. He examined these concretions chemically and arrived at the conclusion that they consist chiefly of carbon. He explains the accumulation of the carbonaceous material as the result of minute deposits of carbon through the individual¿s entire life. This carbon is a waste by-product, so to speak, of the act of respiration, and is thus ultimately endogenous in origin. In addition to his chemical analysis he also subjected the black masses to microscopic examination. Guillot is convinced beyond any doubt that the black masses act mechanically in the lungs. They press upon the smaller branches of the veins and arteries and obliterate them. This is clearly shown by injecting the vessels. In addition to these observations Guillot also reported the clinical findings in thirteen cases of this kind. While Guillot's investigations were not directly concerned with miners, they are important in this connection for they were A SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION TO THE PATHOLOGICAL HISTOLOGY OF BLACK LUNGS SIMILAR TO THOSE FOUND IN COAL MINERS. Guillot's work was widely accepted in France. Brockmann's basis ideas on this topic resemble the etiological theory proposed by Guillot.¿ ; Schiller E : Free Radicals and Inhalation Pathology (2013), p. 40 ; Cudkowicz L : The human bronchial circulation in health and disease (1968), pp. 6, 12, 14, 20, 25, 230 : "The first anatomical recognition of the normal bronchial arteries in the early 19th century, attention began to be focused on their function. The first worker to attack this interesting problem was probably Guillot, who in 1845 published his method of study and conclusions"; Charan NB et al. : Bronchial vascular congestion and angiogenesis, European Respiratory Journal, 1997, 10(5), 1173-1180 : "In pulmonary tuberculosis, enlargement of the bronchial arteries was noted as early as 1845 by Guillot. These changes were later confirmed and anatomical features elaborated upon by several investigators." © S.A.S. Jean-Pierre Aubert, 2016.…
